The Office of Marketing is tasked with representing and promoting the College of Engineering and Computer Science to people and entities not part of the College by presenting a consistent theme of excellence in supporting the College and University missions. Marketing should be involved whenever a significant portion of the audience is external to the college and a significant portion of the purpose of the communication is the broader representation of the college and/or its activities.

The Research Support Office provides assistance in developing concepts, polishing writing of research proposals, and help with your post-award accounts. Further, special programs for recruiting and retaining MS and PhD students are often available. Our technical writers offer annual proposal writing workshops ideal for helping young faculty learn how to develop ideas into proposals.

John Mackay, MBA, CECS' Business Development Officer, helps generate research dollars from the research conducted and faculty expertise at CECS. Specifically, John helps CECS faculty understand the market potential for their respective technologies; find funding opportunities; communicate with funding agencies; develop proposal teams and teaming arrangements; and manage and write competitive proposals to multiple state and federal agencies. John is a former award-winning journalist and MBA graduate with 24 years of experience providing proposal management, communications and business development expertise.
